Fraoch

[fray-ohk]

Fraoch, meaning heath or heather, takes its name from the landscape around Sligo, where we first started organising yoga retreats.

Retreats are organised by Luna Dolezal and Fiona Hallinan. Luna instructs yoga and Fiona makes food. We are assisted on each retreat by a team of volunteers.

Luna started practicing yoga in 1998 and has been teaching yoga since 2004. She trained in Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT) in Santa Catarina, Brazil and has completed Pregnancy Yoga Teacher training with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli in the UK and with Katie Manitsas in Sydney, Australia. Luna currently teaches hatha yoga at Yoga Dublin Studios in Ranelagh and regularly teaches outdoor yoga in beautiful Dartmouth Square. Luna has been a dedicated Vipassana meditation practitioner since 2005.

Fiona Hallinan is an artist who frequently works with food as part of collaborative projects. In October 2013 she set up The Hare, a temporary cafe in Temple Bar Gallery and Studios with Katie Sanderson. She is co-organiser of Concrete Tiki, a programme of food events for the Irish Museum of Modern Art Summer Rising festival with Michelle Darmody. The food she makes for the retreats is colourful, vegetarian and inspired by travels to the Middle East as well as local Irish produce.
